Androvian Royal Guard Concept
Artist: Alexander Boehme-Mason
This artwork represents some of the pieces the royal guard of Valcorana would carry.
The text reads, "Their armor was a shimmering raiment of red as if blood itself had been preserved in metallic memory. Some carried behind them rustic velvet drapes as thick as the veil of winter’s bark, while the others’ capes were deep red and flecked with bronze. Their swords were well made, and their arrow shafts constructed of pearl wood with a single mark of red in the feather to indicate to whom they belonged. Atop their heads sat helms of red metal lined in bronze and set with two tall plates at the brow that rose and fanned slightly out like the wings of a drake. The helms’ visors came to a point that stopped just below the chin and were carved with two wide eye openings to mimic the gaze of a Faedrake. A tail of dark horsehair fell from the top of each and was entwined with braided ribbons of red, and the collars of the helms were layered with panels to guard their necks. " - RTD The Scion of Hope - Chapter 1
